Ohio Department of Aging Staying Connected Check-in Service:

Free for all Ohio residents ages 60 and older

Programs for Older Adults

Parma area residents who are 55 years old and older are invited to participate in the City of Parmas array of programs, services and activities. 

Parmas multi-purpose Donna Smallwood Activities Center offers daily activities, Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Persons 60 and older are given priority nutritional lunches and transportation programs.

Erin Lally is responsible for the Donna Smallwood Activities Center and Office on Aging. She oversees the numerous offerings the facility provides to area senior residents. She is skilled at building strong relationships with community partners such as Cuyahoga County Public Library, Cleveland Metroparks and local schools, churches, realtors, civic groups and business leaders.

Most recently, Lally served as assistant to Parma Heights Mayor Mike Byrne for the past 10 years. She handled administrative assistant tasks, provided graphic design, managed social media and organized special events.

Earlier in her career, she was twice elected to the Ohio House of Representative, where she served as minority whip and was a member of multiple committees, including the Health and Family Services Committee.

Between her jobs with the State House and City of Parma Heights, she ran a home-based graphic design business while raising children.

For 22 years, she has been married to her husband Francis Lally, a lieutenant for the City of Cleveland Fire Department. They have five children who range in age from 20 to 14.
