PARMA, Ohio – Mayor Tim DeGeeter invites Parma residents to join him for an outdoor viewing of the movie “Happy Feet Two” on Saturday, July 28 at James Day Park.

The event, the first of its kind in Parma, will feature a screen that measures 26 feet by 15 feet. The viewing will take place on the park’s Soccer Fields 1 & 2. Residents are encouraged to bring blankets and lawn chairs to enjoy the free family night out. A concession stand will also be available at the event.

Gates at the park will open at 7 p.m., and the movie is scheduled to start at 9 p.m. Cornhole and carnival games will be available during the interim before the movie begins.

“I encourage Parma residents to come out and enjoy the evening of fun and entertainment,” Mayor DeGeeter said. “It’s a free event that the whole family can participate in and enjoy. I am looking forward to bringing my family.”

The rain date for the event is August 11.

“We are always looking for new ways to engage Parma residents and especially families,” said Mickey Vittardi, the city’s Parks & Recreation Director. “We’re excited about having a Movie Night, and we’re looking forward to a great turnout.”
