PARMA – Parma Mayor Tim DeGeeter on Monday nominated Donna Imhoff, the president of Cuyahoga Community College’s Western Campus, for appointment to University Hospitals Parma Medical Center Board of Directors.

Monday night, Parma City Council approved DeGeeter’s request to submit Imhoff’s name to University Hospitals for final approval. Council also ok’d sending the name of current board member Donna Thomas for reappointment.

If approved, Imhoff would serve a two-year term beginning May 1, 2018, and ending May 31, 2020, while Thomas’ appointment would last for three years beginning May 1, 2018, and ending May 31, 2021.

“The board plays an important role in helping shape the direction of UH Parma Medical Center – a vital institution to the community not only as the city’s second-largest employer but also in providing access to quality healthcare to our residents,” DeGeeter said. “It’s that kind of commitment to care that led the facility to receive a 5-star rating – the highest possible – from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid for the hospital’s patient experience, efficiency, and safety.”

Added DeGeeter: “The appointment of President Imhoff to the board would add a great community leader who also represents another critical institution in Parma. I think her appointment only would enhance the excellent work the board already does for the hospital and our city.”
