PARMA, Ohio -- Mayor Tim DeGeeter is scheduled to offer his second State of the City presentation on Feb. 25. Continuing the trend he started last year, he will showcase a community partner and deliver the speech at Parma Community General Hospital.

The presentation will be held at 7 p.m. in the hospital’s John A. Nelson Auditorium.

DeGeeter is looking forward to highlighting the many accomplishments during his administration’s first year in office. He will also look ahead to further goals of the administration. The speech will also serve as February’s “Mayor Out” event during which residents may speak to the Mayor before or after the speech.

“Our administration’s approach has been to combine common sense and hard work to produce real results,” DeGeeter says. “We’re proud to share some of those results at the State of the City.”

The Mayor will touch on themes such as keeping and creating jobs, strengthening the local economy and making city government more effective, efficient and accessible. He will also highlight the ways that the administration has improved the quality of life for residents by keeping neighborhoods safe and strong, enhancing infrastructure, caring for senior citizens and providing recreational opportunities for residents.

Said Parma Hospital president and CEO Terrence Deis: “The importance of health care in our lives and the role it plays for the health of our community cannot be underestimated. We are honored to have Parma Community General Hospital be the host site for Mayor DeGeeter’s State of the City address.”
