Brian Day

Auditor Brian Day was elected in November 2015. Prior to his role as auditor, he served as Ward 4 councilman for 12 years.

Day is a graduate of Holy Name High School and John Carroll University.

He is married to Colleen Corrigan Day and is the father of three daughters. The family attends St. Columbkille Catholic Church, where he is involved in parish functions and previously coached girls’ softball and basketball. He is active in numerous civic and social organizations throughout Parma.

Day is responsible for coordinating the city’s account payables, payroll, management reporting, budget preparation and monitoring finances.

In addition, his office coordinates the municipality’s annual audit and prepares the city’s Comprehensive Annual Finance Report.

The Office of the Auditor also is responsible for the city’s Management Information System, which records, stores and reproduces internal financial information, along with supporting the city’s computer network and employee workstations.

He also oversees Vitals Statistics, which provides certified birth and death certificates for those born in Ohio and those who passed away in Parma, Ohio.

Vital Statistics Office

The Vital Statistics Department wants residents to request certified copies of birth and death certificates by mail, email or phone. For safety reasons, beginning Nov. 17, the department is no longer accepting walk-in requests. Vital Statistics can make a certified copy of a birth certificate of any citizen who was born in Ohio. The department can also make a certified copy of a death certificate of any citizen who died in the City of Parma. Following are instructions on how to obtain these certificates:

Birth and Death Certificates
You can access an application for a birth certificate or death certificate. Print the application, complete it and mail it to: Vital Statistics, City of Parma, 6611 Ridge Road, Parma, Ohio 44129 with a money order or bank check made payable to the City of Parma. Personal checks will not be accepted and will be returned. The cost is $25 per certificate. Please include a self-addressed stamped envelope. A staff member will send a copy of the certificate within a week of receiving the request.

For a birth certificate, Include a letter providing the following information:

  • Full name at birth
  • Date of birth
  • Name of hospital along with the county where born 
  • Mother’s full maiden name and the state or country where she was born
  • Father’s full name and the state or country where he was born
  • Number of certificates requested


For a death certificate, include a letter providing the following information

  • Deceased individual’s name
  • Deceased individual’s date of death
  • Number of certificates requested


If you are not able to download the online application, email Vital Statistics at vitalstats@cityofparma-oh.gov. Include your preferred phone number in your email message so a staff member can contact you.

Call Vital Statistics and apply over the phone.
Call Vital Statistics, 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday at 440-885-8816. A staff member will take your information over the phone to complete the application. If your call rolls over to voicemail, please leave your name and phone number so a staff member can call you back.

Payment over the phone must be made via credit card (Visa, Mastercard or Discover). The cost is $25 per certificate. A staff member will send a copy of your certificate within a week of receiving your request. Personal checks will not be accepted and will be returned. Please include a self-addressed, stamped envelope.
